Gunung Sewu, one of Indonesia’s largest group companies with approximately 25,000 employees, identified the need to align its workforce with the company’s code of conduct. To enhance compliance training effectiveness across its diverse business units, Gunung Sewu partnered with Level Up to create an interactive and engaging training solution utilizing case simulations.
The objective was to revolutionize compliance training by creating an engaging and accessible solution that effectively aligns Gunung Sewu’s code of conduct with its diverse workforce. The goal was to provide an immersive experience that challenges employees’ understanding of the code of conduct, promoting a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.
The challenge was to make compliance training engaging and relevant across Gunung Sewu’s five business units, considering the diverse nature of the workforce.
In response to Gunung Sewu’s objective, Level Up developed a customized game called “The Code.” This game immersed employees in real-world scenarios designed to challenge their understanding of the company’s code of conduct. The game was optimized for accessibility, allowing employees to play it on Android/iOS mobile devices or through the web. Key features included visual novel-style gameplay and real-time player tracking to assess comprehension and monitor individual performance.
The implementation of “The Code” at Gunung Sewu led to transformative results in compliance training:
The visual novel gameplay engaged employees, fostering a deeper understanding of the company’s code of conduct through diverse and realistic scenarios.
The player tracking system enabled real-time assessment, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, allowing for targeted support and follow-up training.
“The Code” significantly contributed to higher compliance levels and adherence across all business units.
By offering the game on mobile devices and the web, Gunung Sewu streamlined training, making it accessible to employees at their convenience, irrespective of location.
The game-based approach reduced the need for traditional classroom training, saving company resources while delivering an equally effective training experience.
